KEARIFAN LOKAL DALAM SASTRA MAKASSAR (Local Wisdom in Makassarese Literature)

Abstract

The Makassare lierature recorded in lontarak leaves has been the reflection of the mindset and behavior
of Makassarese people since centuries ago. This writing is aimed to discuss the values of local wisdom
appeared in Makassarese literature. Method used is descriptive- qualitative using sociology of literature
approach. Collecting data technique is in form of listening and recording. The result shows that the values
of local wisdom appeared in Makassarese literature cover the value of education, religion, honesty, work
ethic, persistence, unity, and cooperaative.
