KONSTRUKSI VERBA PASIF DALAM BAHASA MAKASSAR (Passive Verb Construction in Makassarese Language)

Abstract
In the language usage, it could not be avoided the use of passive sentence since a statement could not always
be expressed with active sentence. The discussion of passive construction could never be separated with active
sentence from traditional to modern grammar. The paper would discuss about the characteristics, forms,
and its distribution of passive verbs in sentence, meaning, and its function. Method used is descriptive using
some techniques like observation, question and answer, elicitation, and procedure of analyzing data used
is classifying data, analyzing passive sentence, and arranging it in sentence. Result of research shows that
passive verbs could distribute in the initial, middle, and last position of sentence. Affixes of verb passive former
could be combined with other part of speech, it also could combine with noun and adjective.
